27.05.12: The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has expressed its shock at “the high number of civillian casualties” in the recent Houla killings. Their delegation head in Syria, Marianne Gasser called on those involved in the fighting “to distinguish at all times between civilians and those participating in the hostilities”. The ICRC also called for injured people to be given immediate access to medical care, and those fearing for their safety to be moved to safe zones.
